One of the main issues I’ve seen with advisors using tech with frustrating results is that they didn’t do a good enough job of empowering the tech to help them. In the words from the movie Jerry Maguire, “help me help you”. Cheesy, I know, but they ring true when it comes to advisors and tech.
In order to get the most out of technology solutions that are content driven the advisor will be best served by telling that tech vendor all they can about their practice. The vendor can then act on it. Creating a new website? What good will it do if you don’t know who you’re marketing to? You’ll end up with a bland website. Going to blog or send out email content? If you don’t know who your ideal client is how can you create content that will resonate with them? Again, your content will fall flat.
